How to use the yes or no wheel
One question, one spin, one answer.
-
1. Type your question
Up to 120 characters, or leave it empty. It shows in the middle of the wheel and above the answer.
-
2. Choose the answers
Keep Yes and No, add Maybe, or type your own two options, like Pizza and Sushi.
-
3. Pick one spin or best of
One spin decides on the spot. Best of 3 or best of 5 keeps score with dots and stops as soon as the result is settled.
-
4. Spin
Tap Spin. The wheel slows down and the answer is stamped in big letters.
-
5. Keep it or share it
Copy the answer, save it as an image, or send an Ask a friend link with the same question.
Answers, modes and sharing
- Yes or no
- The classic. Two answers, a 50% chance each, and the result shown as a big YES or NO.
- Yes, no or maybe
- Add Maybe when a flat yes or no feels too strict. Each of the three answers then has a 1 in 3 chance.
- Your own two options
- Swap Yes and No for any pair: pizza or sushi, beach or mountains, tonight or tomorrow. The wheel works the same way.
- Best of 3 or 5
- For choices that deserve more than one spin. The wheel keeps a tally and ends early once the result is decided, for example at 2-0 in a best of 3.
- Sound
- A tick as the wheel turns and a thud when the answer lands. Mute it with the speaker button if you're in class or on the bus.
- Ask a friend link
- Send your question as a link. Your friend opens the same question with the same answers and spins on their own phone.
- Answer image
- Save the result as a story or square image with your question on it, ready for Instagram Stories or a group chat.
Is the yes or no wheel really random?
Yes. The answer is chosen by your browser's secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) before the wheel starts moving. The spin you watch is choreographed to land on that answer; it never decides anything itself.
Every spin is a 50/50 between Yes and No, or 1 in 3 with Maybe. There are no hidden weights, and the wheel shows the real odds of each answer. Spins don't remember each other either: after three Nos in a row, the next spin is still exactly 50/50.
Best of 3 doesn't make Yes or No more likely. Each side still wins half of all rounds; it only takes the sting out of one lucky spin. Half of all best-of-3 rounds end 2-0, and a best of 5 ends 3-0 a quarter of the time.
One honest note: there's no fortune telling here. The wheel can't see the future; it gives you a fair random answer, which is exactly what you need to break a tie. If you catch yourself hoping for a Yes while it spins, that feeling may be your real answer.
Your question isn't sent to our servers. If you share it, it travels inside the link itself.
When a yes or no wheel helps
- Small decisions
- Order in or cook? Go out tonight? Text them back now? When both answers are fine, the wheel ends the back and forth.
- Couples and friends
- Stuck on dinner plans? Send the Ask a friend link and let the other person spin. Nobody can say you picked it.
- Classroom and party games
- Decide whether a team gets a bonus question, who answers next or whether the next round comes with a dare.
- Live streams and Stories
- Let viewers send the questions, spin on screen, then post the answer image.
Yes or no wheel FAQ
Is the yes or no wheel free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and nothing to download. Spin as often as you like.
Can the yes or no wheel be rigged?
No. There's no setting that makes Yes or No more likely. The answer comes from your browser's secure random generator before the wheel moves, and every spin is 50/50 (1 in 3 with Maybe).
Can I get a yes, no or maybe answer?
Yes. Switch the mode to Yes / No / Maybe. All three answers then have the same chance: 1 in 3.
Can I use my own options instead of yes and no?
Yes. Choose your own two options and type any labels you like, such as Pizza and Sushi or Stay and Go. It's still a fair 50/50.
Need more than two options? Use the wheel spinner and add as many as you want.
How does best of 3 work?
The wheel spins up to three times, and the first answer to win two spins takes it. If the first two spins agree, it stops at 2-0 and tells you so. Best of 5 works the same way: first to three wins.
How do I ask a friend a yes or no question?
Type the question, tap Ask a friend and send the link by WhatsApp, text or DM. Your friend sees your question on the wheel and spins on their own device. The link shares the question and the answers, not a result.
Should I let a wheel decide something important?
Use it for choices where both answers are fine: dinner, weekend plans, who goes first. For health, money, legal or safety decisions, talk to someone you trust or a qualified professional. A random answer can't weigh what matters to you.
Can I flip a coin for yes or no instead?
Sure. Call heads for Yes and tails for No before you flip. The odds are the same 50/50; the wheel just lets you type the question and add Maybe.
