Pick a giveaway winner in three steps

Do it the moment your giveaway closes, or live on camera while your followers watch.

1. Copy your post link

Open your giveaway post or reel in Instagram, tap the share button and copy the link. The post has to be on a public account.
2. Paste it and set your rules

Paste the link into Gifty. Choose how many winners and alternates you need, the minimum number of @mentions a comment must have, how long the countdown runs, and whether to record the screen.
3. Start the draw

Gifty collects comments from up to 1,000 participants, counts each account once, runs the countdown and shows your winners and alternates with their username and profile photo. Share a screenshot of the list or the recorded video.

Giveaway rules you can set before the draw

Match these settings to the rules you published, so the draw does exactly what you promised.

Number of winners: −2+; Pick one winner or several from the same draw.
Alternate winners: −1+; Add backup winners, or skip them. If a winner doesn't reply or doesn't qualify, the next alternate is already picked in the same draw.
Minimum @mentions: −2+; Running a "tag 2 friends" giveaway? Set the minimum, and comments with fewer @mentions don't count.
One entry per account: Each Instagram account counts once, even if it commented 30 times. Commenting more doesn't raise anyone's chances.
Countdown: 3510; Choose how many seconds to count down before the winners appear. It builds suspense when you draw on Instagram Live or film it for your stories.
Screen recording: Turn it on and Gifty records the draw. The video is saved to your Photos, ready to share as proof.

A random draw your followers can trust

Gifty is a random draw picker that runs on your phone. It picks winners with Apple's secure system random number generator, so every eligible account has the same chance. Duplicate accounts are removed before the draw, and comments that don't meet your @mention rule are left out.

Trust also comes from what your followers can see. Record the draw, let the countdown run, and post the video with the winner's username. Is Gifty free? What a draw costs

The app is free to download. Each draw uses one giveaway credit, and credits come in packs you buy in the app. There's no subscription, and credits you haven't used stay on your device until you need them. Prices depend on your country's App Store.

Need to pick from a short list instead? Our browser tools are free and need no sign-up: the random name picker, the wheel spinner, the random number picker and the giveaway rules generator. They work with names you type or paste in. They don't load Instagram comments.

Before you start

A quick check before your first draw:

Your giveaway is a public Instagram post or reel. Stories, highlights, profiles and private accounts aren't supported.
You have an iPhone with iOS 15 or later. There's no Android app.
Entries have closed at the time your rules announced.
You know your settings: number of winners, alternates and the minimum @mentions.
You have a giveaway credit for the draw.
Screen recording is on if you want video proof.

Is there a free Instagram giveaway picker?

Gifty is free to download, and each draw uses one giveaway credit that you buy in the app, with no subscription. Our name picker and wheel spinner are free, but you add the names yourself. They don't read Instagram comments.

Do I need to log in to Instagram?

No. You paste the link to a public post or reel, and that's it. Gifty doesn't need your Instagram login or password.

Does Gifty load every comment on my post?

Not always. Each draw includes up to 1,000 participants, meaning unique Instagram accounts. Every account counts once, so someone who commented ten times has one entry, like everyone else. Comments that are hidden, deleted or restricted can't be included.

Can I pick a winner from an Instagram reel?

Yes. Gifty works with comments on public posts and reels. It doesn't work with stories, highlights, profiles or private accounts.

How does Gifty choose the winner?

On your phone, with Apple's secure system random number generator. Every eligible account has the same chance, and you can record the screen while it happens.

Can I pick more than one winner?

Yes. Set the number of winners and, if you want, alternates. They all come from the same draw and appear together with their usernames and profile photos.

Does Gifty check if people follow me or liked the post?

No. Gifty applies the comment rules you set: one entry per account and a minimum number of @mentions. If your rules also ask people to follow or like, check that on each winner before you announce, and use an alternate if someone doesn't qualify. Our giveaway rules templates show how to word this.

Is there a Gifty app for Android?

No. Gifty is for iPhone only (iOS 15 or later), in English, Portuguese, Turkish, German and French. The free browser tools on this site work on any phone or computer.

Does Gifty work with Facebook, TikTok or YouTube giveaways?

No. Gifty only draws from comments on public Instagram posts and reels. For a list of names from anywhere else, paste it into the free random name picker.
